The club library – one of the largest chess libraries in Ireland – is even larger now after Frank Scott acquired close on 50 “new” titles.
As everyone is back to school around about now, the club is back open tonight for the new season.

The 40th chess Olympiad gets underway in Istanbul later today.
Two St Benildus players competed in the Dún Laoghaire Rapidplay tournament in an attempt to de-rust ahead of the upcoming league season.
The club will re-open from Wednesday 29 August at the usual time of 8pm or shortly before.
Teams for the 2012/13 season will be selected in the next couple of weeks.
Over at the Leinster Chess Union’s site, they’ve announced the league fixtures for the upcoming season for divisions 1-5.
