The Bodley controller has confirmed that Blanchardstown have agreed to our request to have Dónal Hehir’s game last Wednesday declared a draw.
Blanchardstown’s player had offered a draw, but changed his mind when Dónal agreed; the game was played on and we lost. However, once a valid draw offer is agreed to, the game ends there and then. Blanchardstown’s sportsmanship on agreeing to the draw after the event should also be commended!
We not wait to hear the outcome of Ross Beatty’s appeal on his O’Hanlon game last Monday, in which we’re also claiming a draw.
It should be noted that if there’s any confusion over the implementation of the rules, a player is entitled to stop his clocks and call either the tournament controller or – in leagues – the team captain to query the point.
