The O’Hanlon controller has confirmed that Dublin have agreed to our request to have Ross Beatty’s game last Monday declared a draw.
The confusion arose when Ross offered a draw, but his opponent thought he was accepting Ross’ resignation. The error only came to light during post-match analysis, when the position couldn’t be re-set. Similar to last week’s appeal, we’d like to comment Dublin on their sportsmanship in agreeing to the draw!
The half point may be vital to our survival hopes – the defeat against Curragh had left us 3 points adrift of safety, but for now, we’re ahead of Trinity, who played Celbridge on Tuesday. Down at the bottom, points on the board can often be better than games in hand! We’ll need three more big performances to stay up though, starting at home against Finglas next Wednesday.
