The Brennan A team crashed out of the cups after a big defeat in Elm Mount last night, bringing the club’s 2013/14 season to an end.
We’ve all been there; Ciarán and Nicky have both hung material in the club’s last two matches, for example. And now it’s world number 5 Fabiano Caruana’s turn.
The ICU have a small item on their site about info on accompanying adults for the Glorney –
“The Scottish organisers of the Glorney, Gilbert, Stokes and Robinson junior competitions to be held in August have requested information about the numbers of accompanying adults. If you are a parent, guardian or coach of any of the players and intend travelling with the teams to Stirling, please get in contact with the Junior Officer – firstname.lastname@example.org – as a matter of urgency (before June 13th). If you have any special requirements (dietary for example) please make these known.”
The Branagan face an anxious wait to see if they’ve made the semis after a 4-2 win over Inchicore last night. UPDATE – the wait is over…
There are (I think!) eight Benildus players starting the state exams this morning. Luke, Andrew, Conor and Colm are doing the Leaving Cert, while Odhrán, Finn, Jack and Dylan are starting the Junior Cert.
Best of luck to all!
The 20th Bray rapidplay will take place on 29th June; the entry form is now available on icu.ie. It’s a fun tournament for those with too much on to commit to a full weekend’s chess!
