A quick round-up of how each of our six teams are faring at the half-way point of the season.
I’ve been given a number of recent games played by the club’s players to share on the website. I’ll share three now and two more later in the week. Enjoy!
A reminder for any players interested that the Leinster Junior Championships are on next week. The under 12s and under 16s are on Thursday and Friday, while the under 14s and under 19s are on Saturday and Sunday. All tournaments are in the Esplanade Hotel in Bray, home of Bray/Greystones chess club. Full details are here (pdf download)
After pointing out that the 4th of Feb is the week of the mocks, Frank Scott has suggested (and agreed with the school) the 25th of Feb instead for our increasingly non Christmas, but still Charity, blitz.
All other details as before. Entries will be capped by necessity to 64 players.
The club’s next annual Christmas Charity Blitz has been set for Wednesday 4th Feb 2015.
With Gonzaga streaking ahead in the Armstrong, St Benildus have at least taken second place at the Christmas break – though with several tough matches to come.
The O’Sullivan gave themselves a fighting chance of reaching the end-of-season promotion play-offs after beating Blanchardstown B last night.
Tonight is the last club night before the Christmas. Next week, the club will convene in the Mill House from 8pm for anyone interested. There’s five or six signed up so far.
The LCU have made an announcement regarding promotion from the O’Sullivan, Leinster Division 7.
