The clash of the reigning Senior and Junior club champions is the highlight of the first round draw for the 2015 Senior Club Championships.
A grading prize for Mihailo was the highlight of the 2015 Bray rapid, where any high score was quite respectable given the strength of the field.
The 2015 LCU AGM was a rarity in Irish chess – productive, in good humour and, most amazingly of all, over early!
Entries for the 2015 senior club championships close on Wednesday – so you’ve less than a week to add your name if it’s not already on this bumper list! The first round draw will be up by next Friday, with the first round to be played on 1st July.
Ross Beatty has been selected as Ireland’s representative in the world under 14 championships in Greece in October, while Dylan is the first reserve for the under 16 tournament.
Despite some Benildus scepticism and a rare missed penalty, Germany scored six times in the second half to wind up 7-0 winners over Gibraltar yesterday in the end, the bare minimum needed to ensure the top seed will have the white pieces in the first round of our club championships on Wednesday fortnight.

The LCU have released the list of motions for the upcoming AGM; all club members are invited to submit their votes to the committee to decide how the club will vote at the AGM.
