Tim picked up a second 2300 win in ten days to help the Armstrong B keep safety in sight, while the Bodley picked up their biggest win of the season in Inchicore.

The tournament is being hosted by St Benildus this year, and will be on 1-3 April in the Fitzpatrick Killiney Castle Hotel – so hopefully we’ll get a good Benildus contingent at our own tournament! All the details should be on the website, but any queries, just ask.
Bunratty 2016 saw differing fortunes for the three Benildus players playing up a section on last year’s Bunratty, and solid but unspectacular tournaments for those weren’t.
There’s three Benildus players on the 2016 Ireland underage coaching panels, announced over the weekend.
Due to a clash with the TY musical, the charity blitz has been pushed back one more week, to 16th March. All the other details are still as ever.
Elm Mount shaded the O’Hanlon/Bodley double-header over the board last night, although a couple of walkovers meant we came out on top on the scoreboard, with the O’Hanlon picking up a potentially crucial win.
The Armstrong B’s quest for survival got a huge boost at the end of a tense afternoon’s play in Kildare yesterday.
A week which saw the the Armstrong A and the BEA tighten their grip on second and Ben draw with a 1750 also saw most of the leaders in the top scorer race slip up.
The Armstrong B could only manage three draws against Balbriggan – but may yet end up having won their first match of the season!
