Last night saw the club’s third league derby in as many years, with the meeting of our two O’Hanlons ending the same way as our meetings between the two Bodleys (2014/15) and the two Armstrongs (2015/16) – with a big win for the As, but an encouraging performance for our Bs.

The Heidenfeld underlined their claim as early promotion favourites when recording a big 6-2 win in Celbridge, despite missing half a team.

The club’s 2016/17 season gets underway tonight, with the Armstrong in action against Bray/Greystones.
To mark the occasion, if we can win, the top seed will have white in the first round of the Frank Scott Shield next week.
The 2016 Frank Scott Shield will start on 21st September, and it’s already a bigger and stronger event than last year. There’s still time to add your name to the pot to try dethrone two-time reigning champion Odhrán – the first round draw will be made on 19th September.
The Olympiad is only on day 2, but already we have what looks like the best ever result for an Irish player, with Alex Baburin GM drawing against France’s Maxime Vachier-Lagrave GM, the world number 2.
The club’s AGM will be on 21st September from around 8pm.
