This Wednesday will be the last regular club night of the year. We’ll be back open again in early September. In the meantime, we’ll be taking entries for the 2017 Senior Club Championships, starting the first week of July, shortly.

The Killane – our only Cup team this year – had an excellent start to their campaign, winning against a Rathmines side who had ratings advantages on four of the six boards.
The AGM of the Leinster Chess Union will take place at 7pm on Tuesday 13th June in the usual venue of the United Arts Club, home of Dublin Chess Club.
If anyone has any motions they wish the club to propose, they should contact the committee (Gerry, John and myself). When full motions are made available, we’ll circulate for a vote.
A new 6-round competition, the Dublin Summer League, will take place in An Óige, home of Phibsboro Chess Club, over June, July and August. For full details, see the tournament website.
Mel is the new Leinster senior champion after triumphing in the recent Malahide tournament, where the held off the challenge of not one, but two FMs.
In our strongest ever blitz tournament, Constantin became the first player to win three tournaments in a single season, but it wasn’t enough to stop Dylan becoming the first player to take the Blitz Grand Prix trophy home twice.
A reminder that the final round of our 2017 Blitz Grand Prix is on tonight, with the usual rules and starting time (8pm). Prizes will be given out afterwards.
