The main change arising from last night’s LCU AGM is that next season’s O’Hanlon and BEA will be played to a 75 mins + 30 secs time control, while the Bodley will be 60 mins + 30 secs.

After Russia breezed through their World Cup group with unexpected ease, the top seed in the 2018 club championships will once again have white when we get underway on Wednesday week. This means that all five of our tournaments have had the top seed as white in 1, and so next year, the top seed will have white in round 1 if anyone in the club can get a GM norm between now and then!

The list of motions for next week’s LCU AGM has been published. If anyone has any views as to which way to vote, post here or drop the exec a line so we can reflect that in our votes at the meeting.

Two Benildus players have been selected as the ICU representatives at the usual series of international individual underage tournaments across Europe later in the year.
We are now taking entries for the 2018 Senior Club Championships.
