The first week back after the Christmas break saw five of our teams in action, and they came away with four wins, with the main board prize chasers all still in the hunt.

Both the Ennis and the Bodley South A have travelled to Kildare for league action today. The Bodley A are facing North Kildare, while the Ennis are in live action against relegation battlers Curragh. They’ll be looking for a repeat of the 5-1 win with which they rounded off 2018, and which would lift them to second place in the Ennis table with five rounds to go. You can watch the live action here (view “Club Night”, not “Ennis Shield”)
The first tournament of the new year – the Leinster Juniors – produced the same outcome as in previous years; Ryan, Kavin and Zhengjun were runner-up in the U10s, U12s and U14s, bringing the club’s streak of runner-up spots to eleven since we last had a Leinster Junior Champion.
A reminder to all that the club is back open tomorrow (the 9th) with the first round of our 2019 blitz grand prix. We’ll be starting at the usual time of 8ish, with the final round (round 6) over before 10.
