Our originally Christmas charity blitz will take place in its now customary timeslot of “not Christmas”, which this year means the 20th of March.
Registration will open around 7:15 in the library, and we expect to be underway about 8pm. Entry is limited to 64 players, with 8 groups of 8 the max. Entry fees are €15 waged and €10 unwaged, with all proceeds going to charity. It’s our usual handicapped time control – starting at 5 minutes each for players with less than 50 points between them and going up to 8v2 for players with more than 250 points between them.
There’ll be plenty of spot prizes on the night – provided people bring a couple with them of course! Unless you arrive late and get stuck in a smaller group, then everyone is guaranteed seven games; the groups should be over by 10, and the final by 11pm.
