The Branagan got off the mark in the third round, while the Killane could have won outright, but came undone in Skerries.
The Branagan made Gonzaga work for the win for the second week in a row, while the Killane enjoyed a big win over Dún Laoghaire.
We’ve 19 players signed up for the 2019 club championships so far, and it’s already confirmed as our strongest ever tournament. The first round is next Wednesday, and we’ll be closing entries on Sunday – so if you’re not on the list and want to enter, you have until Sunday to join up!

The Branagan and Killane/Brennan Cups are underway, and while our Killane team got underway with a decent win, they were upstaged by our Ennis team – with BEA sub – who were a wrongly-set clock away from a draw with the Armstrong champions.
We’re well on the way to one of our strongest club championships yet, and there’s still plenty of time to join the first ten entrants here. And after Friday’s result in Copenhagen, the top seed will have black in the first round for the first time. My reverse jinx didn’t quite work, though in fairness it came close enough!
