The fixtures for the 2019/20 season have been published and are available here. (Bodley fixtures will be released next month once teams are known). We’ll be picking draft league teams next week, though there is still one last tournament before the season gets underway, which is the City of Dublin next weekend. So if you want to try gain a few rating points to push yourself up a board, that’s your final chance!
The dates for the Frank Scott Shield and the blitz events are provisional for now – we will almost certainly have to rearrange a league game to get the Frank Scott Shield finished earlier than the current round 5 date of 18th December.

The draw for the final round of the 2019 senior club championships is now available.
We have the inevitable revision to Wednesday’s fourth round of the senior club championships, although only two boards are affected.
Five players started round 3 on 2/2, but only one managed to reach 3/3…

The European Youth Championships began yesterday in Bratislava, with three Benildus players among the five-strong Irish entry.
The 2019 Irish Championships – the strongest ever championships – gets underway in Stillorgan today. There’s four Benildus players involved, and you can watch all the live games here as Stephen takes on Tony Fox, Gerry faces bottom seed Darragh Moran, Brendan Lyons plays Stephen Moran, Kevin McHugh plays board 4 against Mark Quinn IM, while Tim has a derby of sorts against former Benildus player Joe Ryan FM.
