Brendan Lyons got in a decent warm-up for the upcoming European Club Cup with an excellent 2130 performance for the Irish 50+ team at the European Senior Championships in Losinj in Croatia last week.
The Armstrong’s round 2 match v Blanchardstown will now be on Monday 7th October, not Wednesday 9th October as previously noted, while Gorey have pulled out of the Bodley South, reducing that division to just seven teams.
There’s fixture changes in the BEA South and the Bodley due to a couple of teams withdrawing. The revised fixture lists for all teams are here.
The next round of the Frank Scott Shield will be on Wednesday 16th October. The remaining rounds are provisionally set for 6th November (pending changing the BEA game that night), 27th November and 18th December (if we cant get it played earlier)
International honours, an FM title, multiple Irish championships – but Stephen finally has the one honour which was missing from his trophy cabinet!
The first round of the 2019 Frank Scott Shield will take place on Wednesday week, the 18th, at 7:30pm. You can sign up now by posting below or mentioning it at the club this Wednesday! The current schedule has us finished on 18th December; we will try bring this forward by either rearranging league games or splitting a round over two nights as required.
Edit – the initial entry list has been added. The draw will be published on Monday evening using the ratings after the City of Dublin!
There’s still time to enter the last weekender before the league teams are finalised – the City of Dublin in Coláise Éanna next weekend. You can join the 96 entrants to date here, while the tournament info sheet is here in pdf format.
