A quick reminder that the club Christmas party is tomorrow (the 18th) in the Mill House from 8, or 7 if you want to watch Barcelona v Real. Open to all those old enough to be in the Mill House at 8!
The club will be back open on 8th January.
The last of our league fixtures before Christmas has now been played, and three of our seven teams are in promotion contention at the half-way stage, while another three are in relegation battles…
The Leinster Chess Union have organised a new tournament next weekend aimed at less experienced players.
The 2020 National Club Championships are now open for entry, and the selection process has begun.

The final round of the Frank Scott Shield has, as hoped, been brought forward to this Wednesday, 11th December, starting at 7:30.
Prize-giving will be straight after. There may be a tweak to the draw as currently published.

There was a Benildus double in this weekend’s Irish Times Sports Book of the Year feature. Former St Benildus pupil Richie Sadlier – RTÉ pundit and former senior international – took top billing for his book Recovering. The two other football books listed were Pep’s City, about some non-Benildus person, and One Night in Dudelange, by someone who’s played more games in Europe than Sadlier…!
