We had a new top seed to start off the 2020 Blitz Grand Prix, but not a new winner as Gerry took only his second monthly top spot.

A reminder to all that the first round of the 2020 Blitz Grand Prix will start tomorrow at the usual time of 8ish.
This is slightly different to the other usual time of “Whenever Ciarán arrives”, as he won’t be around for it – which may lead to operating difficulties with a new Swiss system. We think we’ve found something better than Swiss Gravy (well, pen and paper would be better than Swiss Gravy), and touch wood things will run smoothly enough tomorrow, but no guarantees…!
A round-up across the board as our league teams return to action after the Christmas break.
The new year tournaments saw the club finally break a 3-year duck in the Leinster Junior Championships – a period which had seen 8 players achieve 11 runners-up spots – while the norm tournaments saw decent performances for what are now the club’s top two players.
