Monday – Hibernian Online Chess League face Dublin at 8pm.

Tuesday – 4NCL v CSC 1 (Div 2) and v Morriston Alekhine (Div 4).   You can watch on lichess from 7:30pm.

Wednesday – club 5+3 blitz here at 8pm; usual password.

Thursday – Junior 4NCL v Robin Hoods 3 (Div 4) and TBC but probably Phones Juniors A or B (Div 5).   You can watch on lichess from 6pm

Friday – ICU inter-club blitz Div 1 at 7pm – link here.   You have to be a member of the team first; join here.

And all week, the correspondence club championships continue on gameknot, with Brendan still way out in front on 9/9, ahead of Dave on 7½/13, me on 6½/16 and Ronan on 6½/7.

Monday – Hibernian Online Chess League have a bye week.   Back in action on the Bank Holiday against Dublin.

Tuesday – 4NCL v Catford Cosmonauts 1 (Div 2) and v Manchester Juniors A (Div 4).   You can watch on lichess from 7:30pm.

Wednesday – club 5+3 blitz here at 8pm; usual password.

Thursday – Junior 4NCL v Woking Warriors (Div 4) and TBC but probably KJCA Young Kestrels E (Div 5).   You can watch on lichess from 6pm

And all week, the correspondence club championships continue on gameknot, with Brendan still way out in front on 9/9, ahead of Dave on 6½/10 and me on 6½/14.   The final spot has been filled, so no more spaces are available.

Benildus in Europe booklets out shortly

Lockdown boredom means the club will shortly be releasing a collection of three full-colour booklets commemorating our three recent European Club Cup campaigns.

The booklets – each around 80 pages long – contain the (proofread!) daily website reports (including from the qualifying NCC competition), as well as puzzle positions from the games, photos, club and tournament stats, all available club ECC games, and annotations/contributions from (hopefully) all 14 players to have played in the tournaments – that’s Gerry, Kevin, Mihailo, Zdravko, Constantin, Ciarán R, Mariusz, me, Brendan L, John, Dylan, William, Odhrán and Dave.

We’ll only be doing one print run, so while this will probably be of most interest to the people who were on the teams, if anyone else does want to order a copy, let me know.   Cost is looking like being €5 + P&P, and it looks like we’ll have all contributions ready to go to print by the end of the month.
