The second season of the ICU team blitz and the third season of the 4NCL Online started recently, with some decent club performances in both.

A late suggestion, but we’ve entered a team in the ICU online team blitz tournament, which is the same one that was popular last summer. Anyone who is a member of the club on lichess can join, with our top 5 scores counting towards the team score. The action gets underway at 7pm on lichess here. Time control is 3+2
A quick note of the club’s planned activities for the coming while. Unfortunately the number of covid cases are surging, which makes it unlikely the club will be re-opening any time soon. We have five teams in the new 4NCL Online season, which starts this day fortnight. There may be space for one or two more players, but it’d probably be as a sub only; drop me a line if interested.
The online blitzes ran out of steam a bit in December – maybe because of exams, or maybe because of online fatigue – but we’ll give them a try again this year, albeit on alternate weeks to the 4NCL. So the first of the year is next Wednesday at 7:30; you can enter here with the usual password.
Hopefully, all things going well, we can at least target a real-life Senior Club Championships in July!
