Round 3 of the third season of 4NCL online saw three of our teams record 3-1 results, three of our teams win, and our top players move on to 3/3.

The 4NCL had a typically topsy-turvy night across our five league teams during the week, which has ended with only three of our 19 regulars – and none of our teams – on 100% winning records.
The ECC have announced details of an online European Club Cup, to be held in late March. Full details are here, but the jist is –
- Entry fee €250
- Teams of 4 and a squad of 6 – but the top 4 must have an average FIDE rating of at least 2000
- Time control 15+5
- 4 qualifying rounds on Sat 27th Mar and 3/5 qualifying rounds on Sun 28th Mar, from 1:30 to 5:30
- Second qualifying round on Mon 29th for those who win their initial groups (which based on past experience wouldn’t include us!). Then the final group on Tues 30th and Weds 31st, again all from 1:30 to 5:30
If anyone’s interested, let me know. The real event is currently scheduled for Ohrid in North Macedonia from 27th Nov to 5th Dec, and hopefully covid will have cleared up sufficiently to allow us to send a team to that.
This evening’s team blitz is here from 7pm – all welcome as we try regain our title!
