There’s a couple of upcoming events which may be of interest to some of the lower-rated players in the club.
There’s two blitz tournaments on Sunday 4th December in St Olaf’s School in Balally, both run by Vjeko, formerly of this parish. The morning event is age-restricted and is from 10am to 2pm; you can enter here. The afternoon event is an Open from 3pm to around 7, and entry is here.
The Mick Germaine Cup will take place in Drumcondra on Sunday 11th December. Format is a team of four, with all players under 16 and under 900 rating (including unrated). Registration is 10:30 and prizegiving is 4pm. If anyone is interested, let me know and the club can arrange a team.
Finally, the ever-popular Leinster Junior Championships in the Talbot Hotel over the New Year are open for entry here.
