Brendan Lyons’ excellent win against an FM helped the Irish over 50s team to a 2-2 draw against Leipzig in the World Senior Championships in Dresden.
Two Benildus players have been selected as the ICU representatives at the usual series of international individual underage tournaments across Europe later in the year.
St Benildus will have four of the six players on this year’s Stokes team – the Ireland U-12 team at the Glorney in Scotland – as well as both the named reserves.
