The Bodley fixtures have been released, with the first match at the end of this month, rather earlier than in previous seasons.
With the Bodley now a standard 12-team division, the fixtures more closely correlate with the other divisions and – despite it being said at the LCU AGM that this wasn’t possible – the final round of games are all set for the 19th of April, presumably to be held alongside the other divisions.
The first match is St Benildus B v St Benildus A on Wednesday 24th September. Alongside the two Benildus teams, we will face Curragh A and B, Rathmines A and B, Bray/Greystones, Wicklow, Enniscorthy, Malahide, Portmarnock and Elm Mount. Games against Curragh, Wicklow and Enniscorthy will be on Saturdays. Drogheda, meanwhile, have accepted their offered place in the BA.
The fixtures list has been updated for all the Bodley fixtures. We will likely go with six or seven players on a squad again as – with an O’Sullivan team – we would not be allowed to sub between the two Bodley teams. We’ll confirm the squads closer to the match date.
None of the fixtures clash with the revised Frank Scott Shield dates, so those are now finalised.
So we didn’t get to promote Benildus A to the BEA? Aw, nuts.
Nope. Usual nonsense from the LCU. To be expected at this stage!
Do we have a list of our A and B teams btw? (At least this year, I won’t have to remember that Benildus A is also called Bodley A but is in the Bodley B, that’s a welcome relief! 😀 )
Gonna have to have a look at this on Wednesday. Need to see how a couple of last year’s panel are fixed, and things’ll filter down from there.
