  1. Yes it was mad, but capturing the knight is ok!! After 10.-Bc4, I should have played …-cxb2 11.-Bxb2 (others are bad)-Qa5+ 12.-c3-Nh6! and black is winning, for example: 13.-O-O-d6 14.-Bd5-dxe5 15.-Bxb7-Ra7 and black is ok. Chess is full of “shudda done’s”!! Ciaran was clinical, and well played. I’ll need a different plan next time!! Donal

  2. Problem with this game is that even Fritz can’t make up its mind as to what’s going on! So it’ll vary between +1.4 and +0.4 on the same move or line. It gives the line you have as generally +1 for white (it doesn’t like swapping pieces), but given white’s a piece for pawn up, that does mean black has a bit of compensation and it’s going to be quite an unclear game. Maybe we can see it played out next season!
